Senior Fleet Claims Handler
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Fleet Claims Handler within the team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to deal with a variety of claims for Fleet Policyholders.
The successful candidate will have significant personal injury claims handling experience preferably in RTA claims. They will have a good understanding of not only the personal injury aspect of claims but of liability, indemnity, credit hire and vehicle damage.
The role will consist of a small caseload that includes complex injury claims up to £50,000, high value credit hire and high value vehicle damage. You will also be involved in coaching and mentoring of other claims handlers including referrals from handlers about any aspect of the claim. You will also deal with technical referrals in line with company policy & procedures, participating in a peer group to develop more efficient and strategic working practices, completing monthly quality reviews and providing feedback.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and proactively manage your own caseload of personal injury claims, credit hire and high value own damage claims.
- Review, resolve and proactively manage complex claims within technical limits
- Drive your own performance by achieving and exceeding KPIs and objectives
- Motivate, coach and develop the skills of claims handlers within your team
- Strive to increase productivity and profitability within the business by suggesting different ways of working and identifying potential problems
- Keep abreast of developments across the wider personal injury and claims market
- Support your Team Manager with the technical development and performance management of the team, including appropriate caseload levels
- Participate in project work across the business as required including regular claims meetings with Brokers and Policyholders and ensuring agreed handling arrangements are met at all times.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Already working within the PI area with substantial experience of managing a PI caseload
- Demonstrating an awareness of the commercial claims environment and the needs of Brokers
- Achieving all KPIs and objectives at current level
- Displaying desirable behaviour in relation to the business and its objectives
- Ability to work proactively and to tight deadlines and to take ownership for your own work
- Sound technical knowledge of PI, litigation, liability, and indemnity
- Proven record of adhering to company handling authorities and following referral processes
