Business Analyst

Location - Bristol

This role is a great opportunity for anyone who enjoys analysis, data mining, coding and independently driving business change through investigative work into all aspects of the brokers.

The ideal candidate will have a background in Mathematics/Statistics and ideally have experience working in the insurance industry, however this is not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Work alongside the Operations team to:

  • Analyse call volumes, staff shift patterns, agent performance, customer MI, etc.
  • Help produce new MI
  • Help the business achieve their KPIs
  • Help Operations achieve their objections with analytical support
  • Sum up all analysis and present to the team in PowerPoint presentations
  • Monitor productivity improvements

Work closely with Marketing to support business decisions

  • Analyse changes in contracts
  • Review lead spending
  • Review LVT of marketing campaigns

Work closely with MI / Stats & Actuarial to produce data from other providers

  • Scope out new data sources
  • Help build new data sources
  • Test new data sources
  • Ensure the data tables are always up to date and accurate

Support the Finance team in:

  • Ad hoc analysis and yearly budget planning
  • Optimisation and automation of reports and processes


  • Monitor renewal pricing and investigate where renewal retention and renewal fee does not behave as expected. Raise changes and issue to the Group.
  • Manage large projects

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or Actuarial Studies + 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Proficient in SQL
  • Proven track record in Optimisation Modelling
  • Experience presenting Lifetime Value Models
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Passionate about problem solving


  • Knowledge of FCA guidelines
  • Previous experience in the insurance industry
  • Proficient in SAS
  • Project management skills
  • Experience working with Elasticity Models
