We are recruiting for an Underwriter to join our Bespoke Underwriting team in Cribbs Causeway, Bristol. The purpose of this role will be to conduct day-to-day underwriting of motor risks, providing underwriting support to the rest of the business and ensuring that the book of business is administered in a timely and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out case by case underwriting
  • Work closely with all areas of the business
  • Provide underwriting support in all areas of Plato business
  • Manage relationships with all brokers that Plato transact business with
  • Provide underwriting training to new recruits to the business
  • Monitor the performance of all Plato books of business
  • Ensure that professional standards are maintained at the highest levels
  • Contribute to helping build a profitable book of business
  • Maintain and develop all broker relationships

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience within an Underwriting role
  • Knowledge of insurance principles and practices
  • Excellent time management
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • High attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Good stakeholder management experience and the ability to develop trusted business relationships
  • Computer literate
  • Practical in problem solving ability
