IT Operations Manager

Location - Bristol
Employment Type - Full Time - Permanent
Salary - Up to £60,000 with great benefits
Hours Per Week - 37.5

We are adding a new role to our team to manage the day to day running of the IT department including the Service Desk, Infrastructure Operations, Application Support and IT Procurement functions. This role will be part of the wider IT management/SME team of 8 reporting to the Head of IT Infrastructure. A key objective will be to ensure that all teams are aligned and working together efficiently, delivering the best possible experience for our internal customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads and manages the IT Operational teams (4 Teams, 20 staff) to deliver efficient, effective and customer focussed support and Infrastructure management services and maintain all operational IT systems to a high standard.
  • Monitor and supervise work queues to ensure we hit our SLA’s. 
  • Providing input to project design and completing cost proposals for business requirements.
  • Overseeing and ensuring the groups infrastructure has appropriate support contracts in place on all production Hardware and Software.
  • Overseeing and ensuring that the groups infrastructure is up to date with the latest software and security patches available in line with our defined vulnerability management framework.
  • Ensuring that appropriate security controls are maintained to protect the business from Cyber threats and that we meet defined SLA.
  • Ensuring that appropriate documentation is created and maintained to allow for efficient management of the infrastructure and to enable effective collaboration with the wider IT team.
  • Carry out quarterly 121’s, development plans etc with all staff. 
  • Oversee management of staff rota and holiday planning. 
  • Ensure that all scheduled tasks are completed with the correct time frame.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate with and influence colleagues from across the organisation.
  • Ability to think commercially and make sound commercial decisions ensuring the interests of the business are of the highest priority.
  • Strong organisation and timekeeping skills are essential for working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hands on approach – need to be willing to role your sleeves up and get stuck in when necessary. 
  • Experience with continuous improvement - reviewing processes and finding efficiencies. 
  • A good people person proficient in communicating with people at all levels in the business. 
  • Maintain good quality process documents. 
  • Experience of working in a PCI DSS and FCA regulated business with Cyber Essentials Plus security accreditation.
  • ITIL V4 Foundation.
  • Understanding of Procurement and Asset management in an IT environment.
