Senior Reserving Analyst
Somerset Bridge Group are currently recruiting for a Senior Actuarial Analyst to sit in our Reserving and Reinsurance team. The team works with various stakeholders around the business, including Pricing and Underwriting, Finance and Claims.
Key Responsibilities:
Opportunity to work as part of an experienced team with responsibility for:
- Internal regular reserve reviews
- Deep dive analysis on the portfolio
- Projects related to pricing or reserving
- Providing analysis and insights to the business and other stakeholders
- Reinsurance analysis and monitoring
- Presentations to senior stakeholders
- Process evaluation and efficiency improvements
Required Skills/Experience:
- Actuarial or statistical experience, preferably within Reserving, will consider candidates from a Pricing background
- Ideally experience of the UK motor insurance market
- Degree in a numerate subject
- Understanding of general insurance concepts
- Highly proficient user of Excel and other MS Office tools
- Coding experience with som of these – SAS/R/Python
- Knowledge of reserving support software – ideally ResQ and/or InsurSight
- Good communication and planning skills
- Enthusiasm to deliver and learn
