Motor Claims Handler - Third Party
We are recruiting for claim handlers, who have had at least 12 months experience of handling third party claims, seeking their next career within the insurance industry. The successful candidate will have had had experience in RTA claims. They’ll have a good understanding of liability, liaising with third party insurers and/or solicitors on quantum and litigation.
If our customer has had an accident where they are at fault or there is a liability dispute, this is where you’ll come in as a Claims Handler, liaising with all parties to negotiate and agree liability and/or quantum, generating the best outcome possible for our customer and Somerset Bridge Group.
The ideal candidate will be clear and concise on the phone, possess the ability to investigation claims thoroughly, record information correctly and use their negotiation skills to resolve any disputes. No day is the same in claims management, every claim is different to the next so you will have plenty of variety in your role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate and proactively manage your own caseload.
- Provide excellent customer service and negotiate with insurers and solicitors on liability and quantum.
- Achieve cost efficient conclusions.
- Ability to identify any potential fraud using the fraud indicators.
- Build strong professional relationships with colleagues and clients.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Previous experience in handling motor claims is essential.
- Be able to work as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Organised with ability to protease your workload.
