Pricing Analyst

Somerset Bridge Group are looking for a Pricing Analyst to join the Retail Price Optimisation team. This is a fantastic opportunity if you have relevant experience either within an insurance pricing role and/or with predictive modelling or problem solving with machine learning. The successful candidate may have some experience with any of the following, but more importantly a desire to develop your skills on the job; Emblem, Radar, Python, R, SAS, SQL or other modelling/optimisation software.

Key Responsibilities:

Within the Retail team you will be working on:

  • Focus on customer price optimisation for car insurance, allowing for all broker income streams
  1. Modelling customer purchasing behaviour
  2. Modelling market prices
  3. Modelling customer cancellation behaviour
  • Use of machine learning methods to create models using large datasets
  • Value Assessments of new factors and datasets
  • Monitoring of deployed models and generation of KPI reports
  • Monitoring of market rate changes
  • Ensuring compliance with model governance and engage wider business to seek signoff for rate change proposals
  • Ensuring compliance with GIPP, Consumer Duty and other relevant regulations
  • Radar Implementation exercises

 Relevant skills/experience/abilities:

  • Experience in any of the following: Statistical modelling / data science / machine learning / Pricing / Statistics / Coding / Optimisation
  • Some skills within any of the following – Emblem / Radar / R / Python / SAS / SQL or other modelling/optimisation software.
  • Ability to communicate with wider business stakeholders
  • Ability to understand complex issues
