Counter Fraud Unit Researcher

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong commitment to learning and skill development to join our Counter Fraud Unit. Whether you have a longstanding interest in fraud investigation or possess an established career in claims, the Counter Fraud Unit offers an excellent opportunity to enhance and further refine your investigative skills.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Taking ownership of and reviewing fraud referrals from Brokers, Suppliers, and internal handling Teams, as well as automated fraud prevention systems.
  • Acting as a referral point for fraud related queries across the group
  • Carrying out desktop searches and enquiries to determine proven and potential fraudulent cases, as well as providing recommendations for further enquiries to be made.
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external clients while delivering exemplary customer service.
  • The capability to clearly explain a fraud refusal to a customer while ensuring a satisfactory customer experience and journey
  • Contribute towards Somerset Bridge Annual Fraud Savings
  • Maintain accurate records on various databases
  • Actively take responsibility for the identification of claims and policy fraud trends, fraud operations and promoting fraud awareness across the Group.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • A keen interest in further investigation and research into potential fraud, utilizing both external and internal resources, as well as relying on intuitive judgment.
  • Excellent customer service and call handling skills with clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of GDPR and Proceeds of Crime Act
  • Investigative skills with a knowledge of insurance fraud and other forms of financial crime.
  • The ability to work well as part of a team or as an individual.
  • Attention to detail with a methodical approach.
  • Ability to work pro-actively towards individual and team KPIs and Objectives
