Counter Fraud Analyst
Are you detail-oriented and thorough in your investigations? Do you rely on your intuition when something seems off? Do you demonstrate leadership skills within your team and complete tasks within the allocated time frame?
We are seeking a strong-minded Fraud analyst to join the Counter Fraud Unit to provide detailed insights into emerging and existing fraud trends. The Counter Fraud Unit offers training and resources to help you develop into an efficient and highly skilled counter-fraud Analyst.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently assess policy fraud risks and capture any existing fraud at new business using various fraud prevention tools and techniques
- To engage and update Brokers and Aggregators on fraud findings and recommendations
- Acting as a referral point for fraud related queries across the group, as well as providing coaching, training and presentations to colleagues.
- Responsible for liaising with police data requests and providing comprehensive written statements to law enforcement when required
- Provide suggestions on ways to mitigate against new risks and analyse existing risks
- Working with Fraud MI to ensure rules within fraud prevention systems are up to date
- Maintaining and updating existing and new Fraud operations and ability to report on each operation
- Analysing industry intel and cross checking for exposure
- Attending industry forums in person or online and analysing Somerset Bridge exposure and strategies to mitigate against emerging fraud risks
- Reporting to line manager and higher management on the findings from the Industry forums
- Assist with leading fraud forums and fraud awareness meetings internally
- Review monthly reports issued by Fraud MI to look for any existing trends, using this to seek out efficiency opportunities within existing processes and provide recommendations to your line manager
- Contribute towards Somerset Bridge Annual Fraud Savings
- Maintain accurate records on various databases
- Actively take ownership for the identification of claims and policy fraud trends, fraud operations and promoting fraud awareness across the Group.
- Maintain fraud compliance and personal training.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Previous knowledge of claims and/or policy fraud.
- Proficiency in using external fraud applications for research
- A keen interest in further investigation and research into potential fraud, utilizing both external and internal resources, as well as relying on intuitive judgment.
- Excellent written communication skills
- Working knowledge of GDPR and Proceeds of Crime Act
- Investigative skills with a knowledge of insurance fraud and other forms of financial crime.
- The ability to work well as part of a team and as an individual.
- Utilise researchers to gather intelligence and complete required reports.
- Attention to detail with a methodical approach.
- Ability to work pro-actively towards individual KPIs and Objectives
- Ability to manage own workload
