Risk Pricing Analyst

Location - Bristol
Employment Type - Full Time - Permanent
Salary - Up to £45,000 depending on experience
Hours Per Week - 37.5

Somerset Bridge are recruiting for a Pricing Analyst to join our Risk Pricing team. The successful candidate will contribute towards the delivery of Risk Pricing objectives, in line with company goals, through innovation, collaboration and self-development initiatives relevant to Risk Pricing. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute in a way that directly influences pricing and related business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery improved pricing models across motor and van products.
  • Contribute towards building and implementing machine learning models.
  • Analyse new & existing data sources to maximise model accuracy.
  • Support monitoring initiatives through statistical/actuarial investigations involving rate actions and impact assessments.
  • Prepare reports to the required standard for internal sign off and planning.
  • Work closely with other Analysts to deliver team objectives.
  • Support the embedment of ‘best practice’ processes and regulatory compliance.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Strong numerical degree or higher
  • 2+ years’ experience in an actuarial or data science role (personal lines insurance desirable)
  • Statistical modelling experience (Emblem and/or Radar) desirable.
  • Coding knowledge/experience (SQL/R/Python/SAS/Snowflake) desirable.
  • Strong communication, planning, presentation skills
  • Experience working with large datasets.
  • Problem solving mindset.
  • Ability to understand complex issues.
